Taking The Train To Kutchan Station
Taking the train from the New Chitose Airport is another option to get Niseko. Once you get to Kutchan you will still need to make the last leg to Niseko – a 15 minute taxi ride
- The whole trip should take 3-4 hours.
- The train terminal is on the basement level of the airport.
- One way from the Chitose Airport to Kutchan is about ¥3000, or about ¥5000 return.
- The Niseko Company offers a complimentary pick up and drop off from the station.

From Chitose Airport
JR trains depart from the basement of Chitose airport. Please follow the signs and purchase tickets from the vending machines at the ticket gate. There are very few direct services from Chitose to Kutchan, with most requiring a change at either Sapporo or Otaru. The journey takes approximately 3 hours, depending on transfer times. For homeward bound tourists it is recommended to allow at least 4 hours to get from Hirafu to Chitose as adverse weather conditions can cause delays on the road and by train.
